Children can get out and have fun all summer long. Our unique summer program is all about being on the go. This all-day state certified program is designed to help children develop their values, make new friends and most importantly have fun.
Throughout the day children can choose from a variety of activities that include art, group games, creative dramatics, music, dance, cooking and team building. We take field trips throughout the summer. Field trips will include swimming at Millheim Pool, visits to State Parks in the area, Spikes Game, and many more.

Your children are discovering the exciting world around them. That’s why we carefully design every activity to expand your child’s imagination and encourage lifelong learning and positive values. The YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility lay the foundation for our high quality child care experience. In our school age program your child will learn the importance of making good choices, working in a group and improving problem solving skills all while playing games and creating.
Credit Days:
As a service to our summer school age program participants, we offer 5 credit days per summer for full-time/full fee parents. Credit days may be used when children are absent from the program. Families receiving financial assistance, sibling discounts, or employee benefits will not be eligible for credit days. Families receiving CCIS funding will receive 5 credit days per family NOT per child. All credit days must be used in one year.
Family Policy:
Families with more than one child enrolled will receive a 10% fee reduction on the oldest child enrolled.
Fees and Payments:
All contracted days in the agreement must be paid whether your child attends or not. This is necessary in order to maintain a high-quality program at the lowest possible cost. Fees and payment policies are as follows:
- Payments must be made by the Friday prior to care. Payments can be set up automatically with a credit card or bank account or paid at the Penns Valley Y’s member service desk.
- Delinquent payments of more than 2 weeks may result in termination of care.
- A $2.00 per day late fee will be charged for late payments.
- A $5.00 fee will be charged when a school age child is sent without a lunch.
- A $1.00 per minute fee will be charged if a child is picked up after 6:00 PM.
- Additional $3.00/hour for care will be charged on early dismissal and delayed opening school days.
